Yesterday, I mentioned that I'm happy with the fact I'm taking pictures if not exactly happy with how the pictures actually turn out. Let's look at a few from the past week.
I've never been able to get the flash to work worth a damn with the macro mode. It'll *always* wash it out. So I usually don't bother with the flash at all. Indirect lighting, experimenting with the exposure settings, and especially a tripod of some sort is the way to go. Using a short delay setting can kill the camera shake effect, too. Play around and see what works.
You shouldn't need flash in macro mode, the lense is open wide and long enough to get enough light, assuming you're not in a overly dim room, then you'd want to use bouce light vice direct, if your camera's capable of it.
