So now that I've managed to get MPC to cooperate and take screenshots on .MP4 files, I took some screencaps of the latest Abyss episode. I blame Kelly and her Gundam 00 flailing for this; she's such a terrible influence. :|;;

I'll start by saying I hate this part in the story. Up until this point Van has come off as a sympathetic villain, but this part proves him batshit crazy and just obsessive when it comes to his ideals.
Before the op; the old folks are arguing as usual. I love how Tear, Mieu, and Luke all have a similar expression.
And Guy happily points this out. Poor Tear. XD;;;
Anyway, the op! There's a couple new scenes in the op, as we're getting close to the end now (just ten more episodes to go already).

I took this screencap because it's a great example of why I love this series so much; just for the freaking character interaction. The game was wonderful, but you have to admit that the characters were so stiff it hurt. :\

FFFFFFFFFFFFFF... Tamara is seriously my favorite NPC in any video game ever. D:
Iemon is a close second; I love how he just jumps on Regret here.
Of course, that doesn't last long. T_T

...and Guy. Basically, Van's just revealing his big bad plan with explanations from Jade as well.
And then Van tries to kill them. Of course, we (meaning, those of us that have played the game a hundred billion times) know that he's only stalling them.
Aston being ballsy. He's the only one that doesn't die.
And here's the part that makes me hate Van.

One more in case you didn't get it the first time. T_T
After Guy reminds Luke that Tear's probably the one suffering the most out of all of them. I like to mention that before this, you get to see Noelle grieving for her grandfather, something they left out of the game and made Noelle seem a bit heartless to me. I was glad they had her grieving with the rest of them.
This part has some of the coolest computer generated animation so far in this series.
Descending into the Qliphoth.
Preparing to go into the core.
Descending into the core of the planet.
Settling into the core. Seriously, the screencaps don't do this part justice.
And now we have the reason why Van did all that shit before. HI BIRD BEAK FACE.
As usual, Sync moves WAY TOO FUCKING FAST.
Luke's gotten so much more awesome since the beginning. I mean, we all know that was going to happen, but just seeing him kick ass...
...er... well, some things don't change.

This part I didn't like so much. Where it was pretty cool in the game, it felt very stiff and forced in the anime. :\ Figures.
