This quote from paratti says it all IMO :
It also built on last week's final whisper in that scene and the whole episode in such a way that if I wasn't convinced part way into S1 that Sam's the Demon's, I'm bloody certain of it now.

Just as I'm certain that Dean's not ok with it. That beating the hell out of the poor Impala was all about him not being ok with the burden of his father's knowledge way more than it was about him being dead. It's why it had to be the Impala. Dad gave him that, along with the training and the know how on hunting. The Impala's the only tangible thing he can take the pain of that final thing Dad gave him on. He could have taken it out on Sam, but Dean's a hero and stayed that way by beating an inanimate object that he can fix - and Dean will fix it and get it working; that's What Dean Does - not the (half) brother that loves him. Great way to give the character a moment of catharsis without doing irretrievable damage to him. Kudos to the writers.
And I suspect those writers were watching It before they wrote that ( ... )

Hmm, that is definitely a strong possibility but I am not as certain about it. The secret is definitely about Sam in some way, but I'm not so sure about Sam not being human/John's son, if only just from the way John and Dean act around Sam. They're keeping something away from him all right, but I didn't really get any sense of fear of Sam or them being on guard from Sam. Also, throughout their arguments in In my time of Dying, John still refers to Dean as "your brother" and even the Demon was referring to Sam as John's son in their deal. So, yeah, not that certain.

In any case, the potential for angst is very high, and that's always good. :)

Angel and I are creating a mental list of things you should never do according to SPN. This list includes carnivals, going home, camping, and abandoned insane asylums. It's a fairly lengthy list.

Hey, I could never watch this show alone by myself either, but now that Angel and I are sharing a house, we watch it together. Whee!!!

Dean is not only ridiculously pretty, but he has all that hot, emotional angst in him. Love!

Hee, definitely. Hot woobie with hot macho exterior, what's not to love?

BWAH! That's hilarious! I'm terrified of clowns though, and this episode was hard to watch by myself.

I am actually really interested in any backstories about John and Ellen. Things like how did Dean not ever know about it? Is Jo their half sister? (hope not!) Heee.
