arrrgh. Getting a die back in my 25G fish tank in the living room. Mind you they are petsmart tetras that probably have a shelf-life like a loaf of bread, but it makes me sad anyway they are starting to die off. I guess they've had a good year + in there ( Read more... )

Just did a water test, no ammonia or elevated nitrates present. Just did a water change on the weekend. This sucks. Oh well, guess I'll pick out something else in a while after the dyeing stops :(

Hey, listen! This one sounds like Ellen Degeneres! *holds the little clown fish's buddy up to your ear as it flips about madly*

Why exactly is it that fish are so damn fickle about staying alive? "AHH the temperature's wrong! You burned my gills!" *dies* "AHH! That other fish that looks like me in the glass keeps following me!" *dies* "AHH! It's Thursday!" *dies*

Ah well. Everyone loves some drama in their fishtank, I suppose. :)

Haha thats pretty cute. Yeah, it seems your run of the mill tropical fish are like the bic lighters of the fish world. Cheap and disposable... But I have had a very different fish keeping experience with my cichlids. The have real attitudes, dominate family members and interesting behavour. And they seem to live forever and breed in my 75G tank. Not very hard fish to keep happy, I just have ultra high filteration filtering the entire tank every 6 minutes approximately. But both tanks are actually filtering at about 10x per hour so I guess its pretty equal... Well thats geeky fish tank talk, I doubt anyone is interested in this lol
I can't wait to morgage a house though, I want to have a basement with a theatre set-up and build a solid oak bar with an enormous marine tank, maybe 500 gallons minimum. That would be so cool. Maybe get a shark...
