I think the problem with americans is that we have no culture. I'm not saying that we are not cultured but that we lack history. Well this is not to say that we lack the 200-400 years of history of the colonies and the spaniards but that we lack the long history of Europe. We can not go and see ancient ruins of our people. We are all immigrants.

i think about that stuff all the time too. One thing I can say in regards to the US and Canada. We are 2 of the only real, historically pluralist societies in the world. I think there are major problems (moreso in the usa... ;), but, at the same time, I think its this lack of common history, tradition, religion and whatnot, that may lead to the world accepting others someday
