Summary
-Takaki had a birthday surprise for Yabu but only remembered it in the middle of the interview
-Yabu showed Hikaru a video half a year ago and is still waiting for Hikaru’s comments
-Yabu’s niece sang happy birthday for him
Okamoto: The three of us are supposed to have a discussion about member love, family love and friendship love.
Yabu: Okay then let’s do this in that order. Firstly, member love~!
Takaki: Member love is being able to follow each other without saying it out. For example, if a member has drama work which coincides with concert rehearsals, someone else would definitely remember the standing positions and timing on behalf of that person, and convey all these to the member who couldn’t come. The other time, Keito typed a really long mail about the details of the rehearsal and I was touched. Typing that was troublesome right?
Keito: That’s not true. It is also easier for myself to put the contents in order if I type it into words rather than just saying it out.
Yabu: It isn’t just purely work contact, Keito’s kindness is also shown in his mails. The other day, the mail he sent me for my birthday was also interesting.
Takaki: Birthday…. Ah!!!!!
Okamoto: What’s wrong?!
Takaki: Nope, nothing…
Yabu: The contents was “Temporary last message” and he sent the mail at 1150pm on 31 January.
Okamoto: I wanted to have the last of his time on his birthday. I wrote “Happy Birthday!” (in past tense)
Yabu: As what you aimed for, you were last (laugh)
Okamoto: Yay! ♪
Yabu: Today Yamada told me “Yabu-chan, let me show you some magic” and showed me some playing cards. He told me to choose a card and flip it open so when I flipped open the card on the table, “Happy birthday” was written on it.
Okamoto: Wow, that’s Yama-chan after all.
Takaki: ….After I saw that, I also wrote the exact same thing on the whiteboard at the venue. I had wanted to tell Yabu-kun, “Turn over the board!” and make him laugh, but I forgot that I wrote it, and I left the studio like that!
Yabu: Don’t tell me that weird scream you made just now, was because you remembered this…?
Takaki: Yes! Ahh, so regrettable! (laugh)
Okamoto: A member love episode which is easy to understand is our christmas gift exchange. We do it as if it was common, but when I talk about it everyone is surprised.
Yabu: Yuya has individual love from yamada now right? Game love!
Takaki: Ahaha. That’s right, I followed Yamada and started playing a game, so he helped me a lot. Even when I go home, I often mail or call him (laugh)
Okamoto: Isn’t it rare for you to be playing games?
Takaki: I wasn’t interested at first but the other day when I went on a location shoot with Yamada for Itadaki High Jump, every member except me was talking excitedly about that game.
Okamoto: So you wanted to join in (laugh)
Yabu: That’s so Takaki to show his love for the show.
Takaki: Not only games, Yamada also told me about fashion. He gives me advice like “This would match this” and he also brought me to the shops.
Yabu: You spent so much time with Yamada!
Okamoto: Yama-chan does think of others.
Yabu: For me, I showed Hikaru a really touching soccer documentary video but he didn’t give me any comments at all.
Okamoto: Hikaru-kun has definitely watched it and was satisfied just like that.
Yabu: Nope, when I introduce Hikaru videos, he always tells me his comments about them. That is why I definitely think that Hikaru hasn’t watched it yet. It has already been half a year!
Takaki: This is about half a year ago?!
Okamoto: Just checked with Hikaru-kun and he said “Sorry! I haven’t watched it. It’s the one you told me about half a year ago right?”
Yabu: See~~! I told you.
Okamoto: That’s Yabu-kun after all!
Takaki: This conversation makes me laugh (laugh)
Yabu: Then next, family love.
Okamoto: Yesterday, I went to eat steak for lunch with my grandfather and the rest.
Takaki: You treated him to delicious meat right?
Okamoto: I had wanted to….
Takaki: Eh, don’t tell me…?
Okamoto: I thought that showing him my smile and saying “thank you for the meal!” was also a duty as a grandson (laugh). In return, I gave him souvenirs which I bought from Taiwan.
Yabu: I have stopped buying souvenirs for my family.
Takaki: Me too. But I buy good stuff for my parents or siblings when it is their birthday.
Yabu: Speaking of that, I went bowling with Yuya’s younger brother.
Takaki: You are joking. When was that?!
Yabu: When JUMP was just formed. Eh nope, probably during the junior days.
Takaki: Ahh I somehow remember that.
Yabu: Yuya was also there and I remember you grumbling “my nail broke!” (laugh)
Takaki: The three of us don’t really take the initiative to talk about our own families. I can’t remember anything about everyone’s family episodes. Other than Keito’s papa.
Okamoto: Yeah. During interviews when we are asked, I can answer them, but I don’t talk about that myself enthusiastically.
Yabu: Then let me say something about my family. My niece sang Happy Birthday for me and my sister sent me the video. She was so cute (heart)
Okamoto: I don’t have a niece
Yabu: I see. Only child can’t have a niece or nephew…
Takaki: Have you ever felt being an only child is lonely?
Okamoto: Not really I guess? I don’t have any siblings since the start so I am not really concerned about it.
Yabu: That’s another way to think about it.
Takaki: Lastly, friendship love.
Okamoto: Speaking of friends, Yuya! When Yuya talks about his friends, he is really cute~
Takaki: Don’t tell me it is about that again…?
Okamoto: Yes♪
Takaki: Keito always talks about that when we are having a crosstalk~
Yabu: There might be people who are reading about it for the first time.
Okamoto: Yuya calls his friends “comrades”. That way of calling is natural and really cool!! I am thrilled by that!
Takaki: That’s enough~ (laugh)
Okamoto: He said “I went with my comrades on a trip the other day…” Kyaaa! (heart)
Yabu: Comrades.. that’s Junta right? Isn’t that a conversation about going on a trip with Nakama Junta?
Takaki: Yes yes…. or rather that’s wrong (laugh) Keito has talked about it too much and I start to get conscious of it and won’t be able to say that comrades word
Okamoto: No I don’t want that, don’t lose to my pressure!
Yabu: That’s a weird form of support (Laugh)
Takaki: Do both of you watch stageplays which your friends appear in?
Okamoto: Yes, I go and watch them.
Takaki: I don’t. In the past, I went to a stageplay which my actor friend appeared in, and during a really serious love scene, I laughed without thinking.
Yabu: Ah, I somehow understand, that kind of feeling. Because you are close so it’s awkward, or rather, you just somehow start grinning.
Takaki: Yeah! I am definitely not making a fool out of them. Because I didn’t know there was such a scene, I just somehow… But after the show ended, he said in a serious tone “that wasn’t a scene to laugh at” and scolded me. From then, I stopped going for the time being (bitter laugh)
Yabu: That is also an episode of friendship love.
Okamoto: Love can come in many forms.
Yabu: Member love, family love, friendship love. You can’t survive if you are lacking any one of them.
Takaki: If any of them is too heavy, the balance will be broken too.
Yabu: But for the members, sometimes they also feel like family and friends.
Takaki: Ah, that’s true.
Yabu: Thinking of that, JUMP’s presence is probably a symbol of love.
Okamoto: Yabu-kun, you are so cool…… ♥
