Q. Would you rather choose a bald or long hairstyle?
A. Long hair. You can just let it grow and that’s easy. To be bald, it takes time to let your hair grow again.
Q. How many kilometres do you run in a month?
A. I didn’t run at all lately…. Sorry (laugh)
Q. During a soccer match, do you prefer watching from the goal side or from the sidelines? Tell us the reason too!
A. If it is a team which I support, I prefer the goal side, but if it is a match which I just generally want to watch on a whole, the sidelines. For matches where the team I like is playing, I sit at the free seating areas.
Q. Your best record for lifting?
A. I don’t remember, but I think about 250?
Q. Is there any weird rule in the Yabu household?
A. It isn’t traditional but we don’t turn on the aircon. I turn it on now though.
Q. What kind of tension do you have when YabuHika is doing a photoshoot together?
A. It is embarrassing if I think too much so basically I think of “nothing”. I think “this is just work” (laugh)
Q. When I read magazines, there are many photos where you are looking downwards. Why?
A. Isn’t it because there are many of such requests? (laugh) Like downcast eyes.
Q. Is there anyone you are worried about other than Chinen-kun?
A. Hikaru’s hair scalp. Seems like he does a lot of things to it and I am worried.
Q. How long do you take to write the lyrics for one song?
A. I take a lot of time before I start writing, but when I start, it takes about 2-3 hours.
Q. Blonde hair Yabu-kun is so cool and I like you even more than before! What do you think of male fans like me?
A. I am glad to have fans of the same gender! If there are such people during the concert, I do interact with them and I am glad. I will work hard to let you think that I am cool.
Q. What is the main colour in Yabu-kun’s room?
A. Light brown I guess
Q. If you have no choice but to eat strange things, will you eat them?
A. Well, if they are edible
Q. If you are the youngest in JUMP?
A. I want to tell Chinen to treat me
Q. Tell me which junior you find cute recently, and a senpai whom you are doted upon on!
A. Someone I dote on, is (Sato) Shori whom I always talk to when we meet. Shori-cha~~~n. Shori-chan is the only junior who calls me Yabu-chan. Because I told me “Call me Yabu-chan!” For a senpai, I can talk to Tackey frankly. It is easy to talk to Tackey!
Q. Say something to YabuHika believers!
A. Give us offerings (laugh). We have little to offer you but please continue to be our believer.

Q. Reef squids and firefly squids, which do you prefer?
A. Firefly squid. I like their saltiness.
Q. If you could become either the best singer in the world, or the most popular bassist, which one would you choose?
A. Popular bassist. I want to become better.

A. Yaotaro
Q. Which part of your muscles do you like most?
A. Hand grip!
Q. Why do you rap so well even though you often stumble over your words during Rajira?
A. When you read something, it is different from something that is already in your head. The rap lyrics are already in my head.
Q. Are there any words which cannot be used in your communication after you came to Tokyo?
A. “Ikinari” It means very (in Tohoku dialect) but when I said “ikinari delicious” or “this is ikinari tough”, I got told “what? Ikinari?” and that didn’t serve well in communicating.
Q. Are there times where you still speak in dialect now?
A. When I become natural at that moment
Q. What do your nieces and nephews call you?
A. They call me Hika
Q. Yaotome-kun is good in impersonations and how many do you have now?
A. 100!
Q. Your best impersonation up till now?
A. My impersonation of Ryucheru
Q. If Yabu-kun is on good terms with other members, do you get jealous?
A. No (laugh) I am a broad minded person.
Q. If you could sing a song which you sang with Yabu-kun when you were juniors, what will you choose?
A. The song Ponpin (TN. It is either a misprint or he forgot the song name. The song should be Stompin’) It is a bright and pop song.
Q. Are there times where you are secretly nervous around members?
A. None I guess. It might happen around Ino-chan though (laugh)
Q. What rank do you think you are among the coolest ranking of JUMP members?
A. Number 1!
Q. For food reports, do you think you or Dai-chan is better?
A. Of course me! (laugh) Dai-chan is good in a good meaning. But he doesn’t convey the taste of the food.
