I am thoroughly enjoying watching the two of them trying to figure each other out. And Holmes's idea of distraction was brilliant!

I don't think they'll ever have each other figured out, not complete.y Watson's not one of Holmes' cases, and Holmes, while predictable, is a bit less so than one would expect. They're cute..

Ah, Watson... I'm sure the ruin of your coat was fair trade for Holmes's private performance.

I am very much enjoying these little scenes, looking forward to more.

Probably. He did like that jacket, though. And so begins Holmes steady destruction of Watson's entire wardrobe. SO IT BEGINS.

I don't know why, but those last two paragraphs made me quite happy, just like Watson. :D

Thanks. They made me happy, too, imagining Holmes trying to keep himself busy for Watson's sake, just like Watson was doing for Holmes. Aw.

Ok, you already know which bits made me excited and I squeed about them, but still. Hats! Boxing! Concussion! Violin playing! I still love the tension and wariness between these guys, it's building gorgeously.

In that moment, upon realizing that he and Holmes had both been mutually trying to prove to the other that they were actually very, very busy people, Watson felt very happy.
*glee*

Cannot wait for more :)

Focus on the hat. FOCUSSSS on the HAT. I'm glad you're pleased with the build. I'm very conscious of it as I'm writing, hoping I'm not rushing or dragging.

Well, I was cheering at the "FOCUSSSS on the HAT" bit, it made me very happy. I think the pace is going great, their relationship is definitely altering so I wouldn't say it's dragging, but it's still believable so you aren't going too fast with it or taking 50,000 words to get them to behave themselves... well, not yet anyway ;)

I WISH I could take 50 thousand words (which I accidentally initially wrote as '50 years' because i'm all kinds of hungover and not so smart) to get there. Glad you liked the hat. It's lost forever. Holmes and his damn concussion, the damn thing is lost.
