Praising Thy Worth

Feb 27, 2010 20:00

title: Praising Thy Worth
fandom: Sherlock Holmes Movieverse (could be book as well)
Pairing: Holmes/Watson Slash
rating: R (sexual content)
words: 3,788
summary:Watson feels unappreciated, so, naturally, Holmes disproves this in the most inconvenient way possible.
author's note: Thanks to paperclipbitch, taconaco and avalonauggie where thanks is due, as it so rightly is.

'Darling,' Holmes drawled in that languid sort of way that made it seem like he might have, in another life, actually given a damn, were he not such an eminent deity, 'I am smart with everyone.' )

Ok, I have squeed at you about most of this already, so I shall just say that I enjoyed the rest of it immensely; it is sexy, funny, sweet and awesome (much like the guys themselves) and fills me with joy. And also? Awwwwww. I want to hug Holmes a lot now, but I'll let Watson do it for me.

I had yet to write the end, but I wanted to surprise you at least a little. Glad I held out in the end. And thanks so much for being fabulously responsive, it was most helpful. :)

Was that a Gone with the Wind reference, or is my tired mind (3.30am!!!) making things up?

Erm... not that I know of? I haven't seen the film since I was seven, so don't know exactly what you're referring to, sorry. Maybe it is just 3:30 am.

Haha, okay, there's just this famous line, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn," and I thought you were giving a shout-out :P

I'm seriously moved by your skills and knowledge of Conan Doyle's style. Your humour, vocabulary, tension you built overwhelmed me, and what's more - the absolute power over my brain and emotions you took is just ... )*(%@#$^& . I'm impressed, amazed, in love.
Thank you for this Watson in despair, Sherlock lost in thoughts and Gladstone - two metres away. Sleeping.

Wow, thank you. I'm quite flattered by that. I wasn't really trying to re-create a style so much as my knowledge of the canon seems to just call for it. And yes, Gladstone will always be, regrettably, two metres away, sleeping. heehee. Glad you liked this!

It wouldn't be rude at all! However, this was meant as a one-shot. I will be writing more, though. My multi-chaptered monster is currently eating my brain, though.

Let me just keyboard smash here for a minute:

OMGUH THIS IS SO HOT AND FUNNY AND STYLISTICALLY ACCURATE AND PERFECTLY MOVIEVERSE AND RIDICULOUSNESS AND CONFESSIONS OF FEELINGS THAT ARE SO AWKWARD BECAUSE OH, BOYS AND THIS IS SUCH A KINK FOR ME AND THEN THE SEX, GOD THE GIGGLING, SILLY FIRST-TIME SEX AND THE TENDERNESS AND THE EMOTIONS HIDING BEHIND WORDS AND EVERYTHING. JUST EVERYTHING.

And then I ran out of words. Brava!

Your capslock made me smile. And yeah, I figure this is my first time writing sec or anything close to it directly rather than as an illusion, and so yeah. Glad to see that this seemed to work. :D

The smile widened, showing teeth. “Here puppy, puppy,” he coaxed. GUH.

Aside from that, this is beautifully written, I love how the emotions flow so naturally from the anger at the beginning, down to the just peeking out sadness at the end.
