Yeah, I just hated Wilson for leaving. I was waiting for him to come back in and be like 'o-kaay. mommy mode.'

I was kinda stunned after Wilson left but that should have been the last straw, which you showed beautifully. How it wasn't, I'll never know.

But it makes me wonder what else the show is going to throw at Wilson from House's direction.

Anyway, wonderful job. Depressing, though, to think of Wilson turning his back once and for all.

But he doesn't, though, doesn't turn his back. He decides that he will, but then sees that House needs him (in a pretty literal sense) and that just goes right out the window. To me, that's how it always has and always will be. House will never be able to "push it 'till it breaks" because it will never break; it is already broken and FUBAR'ed. As long as House needs him, Wilson will never leave for good, and as it is pretty obvious, House always needs him. Whether it's to get him his vicodin, or just for company, House needs Wilson. I'm not a shipper for them romance-wise, but I will always support their friendship. That's how I see it.

A very powerful piece, and after reading it, I totally support Wilson's decision to leave. Maybe he knew that was the only way their friendship will survive, the guilt of leaving finely balanced with House's betrayl by ODing. I'm sure he know the exact amount of guilt he needed to make the balance work, and that was exactly why he left. And to send a message to House that somethings are just not acceptable.

Thank you for the fic!

You're welcome for the fic! :-D But Wilson doesn't leave. He decides that he will, but then all that is forgotten when House still needs him.
