I am particularly fond of the bit about parents holding their kids back for a year or two so that said kids will have greater advantages in sports down the road. Because clearly, little Susie or Bobby is going to WANT to play sports in high school, and will be ever so thankful that you have arranged this for her or him. Especially Susie. I know *I* would have been super-excited if I'd hit puberty two years before my classmates.
