Honestly, some of my tech peers probably won't understand the technical discussion, and that's fine. I'm just jazzed that I do.
The Philips Hue is a "normal light bulb" (hah), LED color-changing, with a built-in microcontroller so you can control the light from a smartphone. So, I don't just turn my monitor red at night. I turn my living room red. And the LED lights dim quite dark, so it's also very not-bright. It's really cozy, almost like firelight.
