I love the summer. i love the way my house illuminated in it's lush green jungle of plants that we've accumulated along the way. It was May 12 at midnight, and we were sailing downwind from Newbedford, MA. with no set destination other than north. The night was calm and dull with flat seas and the slightest whisk of wind hardly filling our sails. i found a postcard today, one i never sent. Now it's too late. I remember when they told me. It was christmas and i was peeling potatoes. It was hot that day. I didn't know how to hear that.
