Characters/Pairing (if any) House's ball (Bally), mentions of other characters
A/N: I don't own the rights to House, Chase, Wilson or any of the other great characters on this show. If I did there'd be a whole lot less 13.
I have vertigo. I know, a horrible ailment for a large tennis ball. Especially a tennis ball owned by Dr. Gregory House. But there it is: I have horrible vertigo. Needless to say, but I will anyways, I have a horrible time with Dr. House. He's always spinning or throwing or bouncing me. I appreciate that I help his thought process. I mean, I save lives by proxy. Not a lot of balls can say that. But couldn't he just cradle me sometimes? I'm very sensitive.
Wilson is usually nice to me. One day he found me under House's desk and put me back up on my stand. He rubbed a thumb gently along my outside, like I was a treasured item. I think he knows I'm important. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only thing that House can touch and really feel. There's times when I'm the only thing that's important to him. One time, when a little girl was dying, House stayed with me for days. He didn't eat, just kept tossing me up in the air and catching me. If balls could puke, I would have. Just when I thought we weren't gonna help the little girl he tossed me high up in the air then jumped to his feet. Thankfully he's got great reflexes because he caught me before I hit the carpet. I saw the girl pass by the office a couple days later, she had deep red curls and a huge smile. Made the nausea worth it.
When House was away, Foreman played with me a couple times. I don't think I helped him as much as I do Dr. House. It felt stiffer, like we were going through the motions. He had the same look in his eye that I see some of the first year med school students have -- a look that says, "I can do this!" I don't think Foreman is a bad doctor, but I wish he wouldn't be so hard on himself. Dr. House is special, everyone knows that. So trying to be like him is akin to me trying to be a tennis ball at Wimbledon. Those guys have all the fun.
Great, now we're spinning. I think I heard there's a man with high blood pressure and some green growth on his arms. This might take awhile, I wish they made Compazine for tennis balls.
