I've been crying like all day, i have no idea what to do now. I know that sounds so strange, but i put so much hope in this election thinking that we the young people would make a difference and now it's like, what was the point? Now was do we do Lins?

Yeah, I voted against that. It sickens me when the government passes laws that invade private lives like that...

BUT, I didn't get that it stopped civil unions? Did you read that somwhere?? I know in one other state it was worded that way but I didn't think it was like that in Georgia.

Yeah, in GA, it was banning civil unions as well. Certain states it wasn't, but ours was one of the lucky ones... *rolls eyes*

" The proposed amendments in Mississippi, Montana and Oregon refer only to marriage, specifying that it should be limited to unions of one man and one woman. The measures in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma and Utah would ban civil unions as well."

i was sickened. :(

There was a legal challenge to the wording a few months ago, but the State Supreme Court turned chickenshit and claimed they had no jurisdiction over the wording of a ballot proposal. Just keep your fingers crossed that someone attepts to violate the amendment and then issues a challenge in court, thereby forcing it to become a judicial issue.
