Defiling in 4th Edition Dark Sun

What do people think of the new defiling rules? I think they aren't quite appropriate. It needs to be more tempting to use defiling, either by making preserving more difficult, defiling more powerful or both. I like it the way it is -- defilers get a LOT more power (the defiler feats are really really strong), a blown daily is a VERY good motivation to defile a bit, and the rest can be handled with RP. I'd much rather make defiling tempting and assume that the 4e-default-HEROIC-PCs generally preserve unless they decided to defile.

I've always felt it's much more DARK SUN for arcane magic to not inherently defile, it's just that it's always an option, right there, tempting you...
