With regards to note 2:
The UK National Grid provides free access to a lot of historical and near-live information regarding UK demand, generating capacity and HVDC links.
You may find some of this useful.

I am aware of that and the EU data as well. I will normalize both those and US Department of Energy data as well. I intend for this to be well footnoted, referenced, and cited. I am still sorting on how to present the final data. I already have the spreadsheet which I will release with the final chapter. It is not yet complete but mostly there.
