Phoenix sat at the table, eating a cup of vanilla pudding. He swirled a bit of it with his spoon, making little patterns in it between bites. At first, there was nothing wrong, but then suddenly a FACE appeared in his pudding! It was of Larry's face!
"Hey, yo, Nick! What are you doing?! I need your help, and what do I see ya doin'?! STUFFING YOUR FACE WITH PUDDING?! How could you, man?!?!"
Phoenix's jaw hung open as he drew back from the pudding in terror. But his curiosity got the best of him as he looked down once more.
"Niiiiiiick! Why did you leave me and Pearly behind? Are we not friends anymore, Nick?"
The sad expression of Maya was obscured by the thick swirls of pudding, but he felt the words hit home. He protested weakly and was about to say something when the face suddenly changed to that of Trucy.
"Daddy, don't leave me, please? I... I don't wanna be alone!"
He stared into the cup and stared at the cute little face until it disappeared. It was just a normal cup of pudding again. He wasn't sure what that was all about, but he knew it was something that had been occupying his mind lately. It was hard to admit it sometimes, but he did miss Maya and...sometimes Larry. Just sometimes. But he knew he had something much more important things to take care of now...
"Am I having an inner monologue again?!" He groaned and looked down at the half-full cup of pudding. He could've sworn he saw another face in there, thinking he recognized the cold set of eyes anywhere, but he shrugged it off.
Then with a sigh, he started eating again.
