Mimi, I was just reading yours and Minh-Ha's awesome exchange on threadbared, especially the comments about thrifting in the midwest, and wondered if you know about Value World in Indy. It's seriously the most amazing thriftstore chain ever. Four outlets across town, all warehouse sized. I've been finding a huge range of weird and wonderful items: Brooks Brothers sweaters, brown 70s polyester suits, accessories like whoa. If you visit Indy for a Trader Joe's run, check it out (and leave plenty of time)! Bloomington thrifting is pretty terrible too but this makes it all better.
