I hate music theory, too. I just like to figure things out for myself. What really gets me are the people who are good at it and passively rub it in your face. That bugs the shit out of me.

"I'm a good singer and a good mimic but not a musician." Wha???
Not only are you a musician, but you are an AMAZING musician. I remember the first day I met you in Lathrop Hall. It was a rehearsal for Jordan's solo and he had been talking about you non-stop for days. So there I am, sitting in the dark audience, and this little blond gal steps on the stage and opens her mouth...out of nowhere this huge, beautiful voice fills the entire theater. For lack of a better expression, I practically crapped my tights and leotard right there in the theater.
That was when I fell in love with you.
I think all art is about the struggle...dancing, singing, writing, painting. It's about seeing the end product (or hearing it) in your head and finding different ways for it to come out. It doesn't always happen they way we "want" it to, but trying is all part of it, too.
Artists have "on" days and they have "off" days. You are talented, intelligent, and your musical abilities astound me. Don't give up on yourself.

I also feel like a fraud in most any endevour I take upon myself to pursue. But the best part of being a fraud is that you have no emotional commitment to fucking up. Just say to yourself "I don't know shit about this shit, the fact that I'm pulling off even half a good job is awesome in itself." Who are you trying to impress? What the fuck do you care if you can't play piano? You have an amazing natural instrument, that I bet most of those other people in your major are terribly jealous of. Do the the best you can do in the class to get by and then it will only be a blurp in your music therapy career.
