My answer will be boooooooring: I would change absolutely nothing about what I'm doing right now.
I wouldn't quit, because I love my job. I wouldn't move. I love my car. I budget already so if I want something, I can get it. But I'm big into financial security. So...
It would all go into some sort of savings account, and after about five years or so, with the interest, I figure I could finally buy myself that lake house I've always wanted without digging into the principal at all.
Or, if this is a Brewster's Millions deal where you have to just blow it on crazy stuff? Cruises. Cruises to EVERYWHERE for a whole year for me and my nearest and dearest.
Most honorably, I must pay off my debts first. And then, I would like to put some of it away to perhaps live off the interest of, but what I would like the most is to give the majority away to charity, to make the world better somehow.
With a million dollars, I would pay off all of my student loans and pay off my car so that I wouldn't have any loans out there to worry about accruing interest.
I would put the rest in a savings account.
If it was a case where I didn't have to worry about money, I would totally still do the job that I'm doing because I love it. It would just make my stress level a lot easier not having to live paycheck to paycheck. Plus, once I got to place where I know I'm going to be for awhile and not just for a year or two, I would buy me a condo or my own townhouse so I wouldn't have to worry about rent every month.
I would also set some of it aside, tell my parents to get themselves their passports and when it worked out for all of us, I would take my parents to Europe since I've been twice and they haven't been yet.
Passports first. I'm an evil wanker. I'd eventually tell them that they're going to need a week or so off and I might let them have a say in some of the places where we go though. :P
I think my dad's already been thinking about getting a passport. He's absolutely dying to go to the winter olympics in Vancouver. I'm just hoping that one day, I can get my job to pay for me to go to the Olympics. That'd be sweet.
Pay off my credit cards, student loans, and my car loan. I think that's everything. But I'd still have auto and health insurance to pay for, since I don't have a job yet (sigh) so I'd put a big hunk in savings for that -- and some in my checking account too, of course, to be safe.
At that point, I'm paying off the student loans of one of my friends because her life would become so much easier and less stressful if she had that payment gone.
Then I'm seeing who wants to go to (Republic of) Ireland for a nice vacation when the weather is warmer!
Edit: I'd keep some money aside for my Mom too. Not that I don't love my Dad but he has outright told me that he's not leaving anything for me or either of my brothers.

That's absolutely beautiful :) To change a person's life - that's a gift that gives back many times over!
I'd pay off my tuition including Grad and Doctorate schools; maybe go to Hawaii for that degree in tropical meteorology after all... and help the rest of the pep band kids with their tuition; because a lot of them can't afford to come back in the spring and I really want them to stay... : ( I think I could start payments on a house et cetera on my own; so I'd rather use it on band kids and give some money back to the school itself, because it's helped shape me so much in these last 2 1/2 years.

That rocks :) It's an awesome place to be in mentally, and it's great to hear that no matter what kind of spot you're in, you'd be happy either way!

Would you tell your parents right away that you were taking them to Europe, or would you make them get their passports first? :)
