When Lex is around, you get so confused.
You can't think straight (and the phrase still makes you laugh because, after all, you're anything but straight) and you can't seem to find a way to tell Lex what you know he wants to know. You always figured he'd want your secrets before he wanted you but he surprised you.
"Ask me why," he'd challenged you once.
And dutifully you'd responded, "Why, Lex?"
"It's a gift you can't return," he'd answered then, brilliant smile in place. You'd known it still bothered him that you returned the truck. "From me to you."
