Author's Notes: I've been really busy the past couple of years (!), although I've had plots percolating in the background. Well, this isn't great, but it's a good way to get back into writing.
Ryo smiled at the woman gesturing wildly across the restaurant table, describing her chaotic day.
Even without the memories, he felt like he'd always loved Asuka: her confidence, her crazy laugh, her sense of humor. The helmet of black hair; the love in her eyes when they focused on him. He had a sense he'd traveled far and wide to be with her, and he was glad it had happened.
...Except a little voice whispered just beyond the edge of consciousness, hinting that he'd loved someone else, once upon a time - loved them much more, and much more desperately.
