The first time Harry visits him in the middle of the night, Ron is momentarily startled. But he calms, and when Harry doesn't say anything, just sits there, Ron assumes that either he's dreaming or that Harry isn't quite used to being a ghost just yet. He doesn't tell anyone about it.

The next time Harry visits, Ron still isn't sure if it's for real or not. He smiles and quietly says, "Hi, Harry." Harry just looks past Ron at the sleeping form next to him, smiles sadly, then disappears. Again, Ron doesn't mention it.

The night of the full moon, Ron is in bed alone when Harry appears. He sits up and turns on the light. "Harry?"

"Why, Ron?"

"What? Why what, Harry?"

Harry shakes his head and is gone again.

Ron doesn't wake the next time, but Remus does. "Harry?" he whispers over Ron. Harry is standing on the other side of the bed. He looks up when Remus speaks, blinks, and walks around to sit down next to Remus.

"I've tried to get Sirius to come see you, but..." Harry looks away.

"You told him about Ron, didn't you?" Remus asks. Harry nods.

"I have to go," he says quickly. He's gone the second the words are out of his mouth.

Nearly a month passes with no Harry, and Ron begins to believe it was all just vivid dreams, possibly fueled by guilt. Until Harry appears again at the full moon.

"I just wanted you to know I miss you. That's all," Harry mumbles. "I didn't expect..." He gestures vaguely.

"Remus?"

"Yeah." Harry turns away and looks out the window, then slowly fades away.

Ron rolls over to face the empty side of the bed and sighs. He'll tell Remus in the morning about Harry. All about Harry. About him and Harry. Because maybe Harry's ghost is real. But maybe it is indeed the guilt.
