Timid and ambitious. Those were the two things that Percy Weasley was. He once looked up to the minister, his idol. He loved his family, still does, but never connected with them. He was the outcast, the different one.

When he was 13 and Charlie had just started working with the dragons, his father, him, and the twins went to visit Charlie, who then was in Africa. They had went to the ministry, Father filling out forms for a portkey, while Fred, or George, kept swatting Percy every few seconds with a copy of “Witch Weekly”. Percy finally told him to stop or he would tell dad. George, or Fred, said there was a fly on him and he was just trying to squish it. Percy went and told his dad.

Percy had wanted to cure the few wizarding diseases, had wanted to save the world. He had wanted to be the best of his family, to be loved, remembered. Then Harry Potter had stolen his job. He was now apart of the family, and Percy wasn’t.

That was the old Percy. Percy now had a new family. He was now ambitious still, but now, according to Lucius, he was power-hungry. He figured it was true. Fudge, who he had once looked up to, was but the dirt on the bottom of his shoe, and was just in his way. Percy would be the next minister.

Oh no, Percy wasn’t so different. He wasn’t so different when he was lying there at his master’s feet, whimpering for forgiveness, or when he was on his knees in front of Lucius, listening to him moan his name. Percy felt wanted when Lucius cornered him in his office, slipping his hand in Percy’s pants.

Oh no, Percy wasn’t so different after all.
