Thank you so much for this great story! My apologies for not being swifter with feedback. I'm quite ill right now, and it's slowing down my ability to get much done. I'll be back soon with better feedback for you, but right now, know that I thought this was really interesting, and enjoyed reading it. Thank you! ^_^

My apologies once again for taking a little while to give you better feedback. *scuffs toe*

I think this is the first cruise ship AU I've ever read! That's really nifty. I really enjoyed the various little details that sketched out the ship, St. Thomas, and the general world. It's fascinating how Viggo's desires and goals shift and change over the course of this story, as he becomes closer and closer to Sean.

This growing sense of emptiness was unsettling and he careened into more and more encounters in an attempt to find equilibrium.
It's fascinating that not only does this really lay out how Viggo's no longer getting what he wants from life, but at the same time, he seems to be doing the exact opposite of what he needs to do to find what he's missing.

With a muttered 'fuck', he finished his nightcap and reached above the bed to turn off the light. Leaving the glass on the nightstand, he quickly found other uses for his hands as they slid beneath the covers.I really like this scene, and the way it mixes that frustration with being ( ... )

The temperatures didn't change much as Fall rolled into Winter, but Sean thought it had never been so bitter.
What a great line.

That whole scene with Viggo watching Sean and not quite getting up the courage to go inside the Hook and Crook is heartrending. It's a good thing he does go in, even if he does wait until Sean leaves. And thank goodness that Sean chose that day to leave the note and bracelet for him, since Viggo had no plans to come back again! ...I love that Sean's sent more than one letter, too, regardless of the fact that Viggo's only read the one.

Sean stepped close and took both of Viggo's hands in his own, feeling the warmth of his skin and the coolness of the silver.
I love that contrast, I really do.

I don't think I'm going to spend a lot of time bonding with my new father in law.*G* And that made me grin, despite the fact that Sean doesn't get along with his father, because I love the implicit idea that they're not just going to be together as lovers/boyfriends, but more than that ( ... )

You spoil me...you know how much I love comments about specific phrases. Thank you!

Sean was leaving the box and note for whenever Viggo came back in since he knew he turned up in St Thomas every week. He didn't think he'd come back to the H&C any time soon - not after he didn't come that day.

(Don't you love the tag: " [Cruise Ship Engineer AU]". Seriously...do you think that will ever be re-used? *g*)

Thanks you again for all the very generous feedback. This wasn't my best by any means but I am so glad it gave you some smiles!

This is really great. The overall premise (who the characters are and the setting) is nicely unique, and it creates this lovely slow romance, a courtship spread out over weeks in small delightful bites. Sean approaching Viggo in such a corny way really works, almost as if it throws Viggo out of his usual m.o. I also love that Viggo may not fully realize what's happening or how he's feeling, almost like it sneaks up on him, which is great. And I was so relieved when Viggo finally responded to one of Sean's messages! This is a lovely story; really enjoyable to read.

I'm so glad you liked it. I really enjoyed this thought of them being in the same spot week after week and the possibilities that might come from that. And it was fun to write Sean as the big goofball for a change! :-) Thank you for your kind feedback.

What a lovely fic and a great idea. I very much like the slow progress they make. A wonderful read on a dull Sunday morning. *hugs*

I'm so glad you liked it. They moved slowly, didn't they? LOL I loved writing Sean as the more drifty, free type this time around. Thanks so much for your comments.

I enjoyed the slow unfolding of this and loved the cruise ship idea.

When Viggo thought that Sean had left him, I was so involved that I was yelling at the screen, "No, you idiot, it's his father!" *g*

I loved that all was well in the end, though! Thank you. Lovely to have another fic from you. *hugs*

I can't imagine that anyone who follows my LJ saw 'cruise ship' and didn't think "oh geeeez....she's writing THAT?". LOL I'm glad I was able to build some suspense with the scene with Sean's dad. Until other people read that, I wasn't sure I'd pulled it off. Thank you so much for your feedback. *hugs*

Wonderful characters, specially Sean, so sure and decided when he met Viggo. I really loved him because usually in this pair Sean is the shy one. Thank you so much for sharing. Martha
