Oh secret slasha Santa, this is right in my wheelhouse, you must know this: a first-time, NZ fic with our beautiful boy.

I love how the older men guide and shape Elijah, sharpening his perspectives and illuminating his experience. And I love how Elijah takes this knowledge to his relationship with Dom, letting it make him brave, freeing him.

The voices of all of your characters are utterly believable and informed. And the situations you match them to -- Viggo and pot (yeah, go figure), Ian and acting, Karl and the NZ landscape, Bill and music, Bean and brawn -- sound true and so well matched.

There are so many lovely turns of phrase and rich dialogue; it is all so well told.

That little "fin" should be a clue to me, you know. I've read you, I know I have. I may even do a little sleuthing to see if I'm right. :)

Outside of Elijah's relationship with Dom, my favorite images were of Viggo feeding him home made lasagna and his interactions with Sean Bean:

Hit me, he said one day, punch me in the stomach. Elijah did, but Bean just laughed and yelled harder, you little fuck, so Elijah punched him until he knocked the wind out of him. It took him seven tries.
