So very lovely! I like that it's so much about Orlando and how you weave the dreams and his unease with them throughout, especially with how his relationship with Dom evolves. So many of your passages are so vividly descriptive. I particularly like this:

Orlando is falling again, fast this time, and the scenes that rush past are full of good-looking people in colorful outfits yelling his name. Some of them he knows, but most he doesn't. They're all stretching out as if to stop or slow his descent, and he reaches back, trying to catch hold of a hand, an arm, anything to ground him, to keep him from the endless plunge. The area below him is shrouded in darkness. No matter how far he falls, he can never see the ground. The area above him stretches on into nothingness. The hands snatch at him, snagging in his clothing, sliding across his skin, but nothing holds and no one can keep him, so after a while he closes his eyes on their worried faces and lets himself fall.

Really interesting looks at these characters, with Orlando's dreams and feeling that things always move too slowly, Dom's feelings of jealousy. Very nice.

This. I just started rewatching the LOTR dvd extras and that "We are all a little but in love with each other" bit is so spot on.

I really like the way you wrote them together here and the way you have woven the Orlando's dream into the story and into their relationship.

These notions of alp and elf, of the fear of falling, of being trapped by something unknown, are intriguingly original. You've captured two things unique to both of their backgrounds and overlaid them very nicely in this story.

Thanks! I had the idea of Orlando's nightmare buzzing in my brain and it was fighting with the urge to write something with Dom's German in it and luckily, the two met in the middle!
