Wow, so in conclusion what looked like it was going to end as a shitty but forgettable night snowballed into a shitty and expensive night

i agree about taking his story somewhere, even if they do reimburse him! that event showed a total lack of responsibility all around, promoters and "security" alike. i'm really glad i ended up not going to that.
That's fucking ridiculous. I think when a place charges you money for a coat check and they give you a tag, at the moment you receive the tag they are responsible for holding onto your coat and for reimbursing you if they do not have it at the end of the night. If they don't provide this assurance you should be able to forego the coatcheck and keep your jacket with you. Otherwise, what the hell are you paying for. "We'll hold your coat and it may or not be there later." Really stupid.
Good luck getting it back or getting your money back!
It's a shitty situation all around, so far though I gave my name/number to a guy at the WAG, now it looks like the promoters are doing something too and I sent them off an email and I got an email for someone from the Wpg Sun so I sent them off an explanation of the story and whatnot as well.
Hopefully something good happens because I'd hate to have to take this to small claims court.

I'm sorry to hear this.
The WAG/promoters had better reimburse you. If not, take your story to the Free Press. Seriously. That's bullshit.
