downtime

Man, remember when this thing used to be updated every few days? It's actually kind of funny how much Myspace has replaced LJ as my form of communicating with friends online and documenting shitty little things that happen to me. But I guess LJ had a fairly long run for me, starting with xhypex waaaaaaay back on August 7th of 2002, and then over to ( Read more... )

Be optimistic about being in the pool with Agriculture Canada. Here on the base they put the new employees that they have on contract in a pool, and a few of them have been able to secure longer/permanent positions in other departments because of it.

I'm still optimistic of course, but I was hoping to be working and making better money sooner rather than later haha. While waiting for them I'm still looking for a different job too sadly

P.S. I've also had my LJ since 2002! And I totally agree with what you said about livejournal being more concrete. Myspace is just about getting picture comments.

It blocks certain pages, for instance I can access LJ, several other message boards and just about anything else, but it blocks Myspace, most games and literally every other proxy surfing application.

Firefox was nice because my friend here set up a proxy server that we could access directly through Firefox's connection settings though.

Oh and worst of all, no webmail either. One saving grace is I get to stare at ebay all day haha

I can't believe i'm still not sick of LJ. I think i've had an LJ longer than you. I feel like i had one in grade 9, but maybe i'm wrong. This is my third LJ though.

This is probably nuts, but i've honestly only ever heard one Sonic Youth song. I really need to check out more.

Yeah I've only had one since 2002, when I got xhypex from Andrea (who you also know). That was back at the beginning of university, I was only 18 then!!

Not weird at all, I never used to listen to Sonic Youth, until about 1.5 years ago when I started to and they quickly became one of my favourite bands of all time, ha.

Ya they seem to be a lot of people's fave band of all time. Do you recommend all of their stuff?

The first couple albums can be a tough listen, they were a LOT more experimental back then with lots of feedback and other elements. I really like the early to mid-period albums (Sister, Daydream Nation, Dirty) and the last 2 albums (Sonic Nurse and Rather Ripped) are both really really good too.

I want to hang out at Indie Night with you and Dale! I will have to bug Randy to take me one night when I'm feeling braver. You Dale and Randy should all come over one night for koolaide and rice krispie squares. :D

That would be an awesome idea actually, if you come out I could probably convince Mike or Rob to play some sweet 90's indie stuff too!
