Summary: Neal finds Peter alone at the office

The elevator dinged loudly in the silence of the hallway, in front of the huge, glass doors leading into the FBI. It was eerily silent. Quiet and calm in a crazy contrast to the noisy controlled chaos that usually made up the rooms.
Neal looked through the double doors, not really surprised to see Peter's office light on. Neal pushed the doors open and slipped in quietly. The Headquarters lights were dimmed, ready to be turned off for the night. The only bright light in view was coming from Peter's office.
Neal bounded up the stairs, taking them two at a time. He got to Peter's office, the glass door open, but he hesitated entering the office, choosing, instead, to stare at the pure look of concentration on Peter's face. He watched as his boyfriend poured over some kind of paperwork. He watched as Peter's eyebrows scrunched together as he frowned, scribbling something on the paper.
Neal finally stepped into the office, a clever phrase on the tip of his tongue before he was cut off before he even started by Peter.
"Please tell me, you didn't think that I didn't know you were standing there." Peter said, not even looking up from his work.
"Of course not!" Neal said quickly. Peter fixed him with a stare.
"Okay, admit it. You have some weird FBI spider-sense power that lets you know when I'm here, don't you?" Neal asked sitting down on Peter's desk and smiling, and then smiling even bigger when his statement made Peter chuckle. Peter leaned back in his chair to look up at Neal.
"Why are you here?" Peter asked.
"I could ask you the same thing." Neal said calmly.
Peter frowned and sat back up, remembering his paperwork again.
"I have work to do" Peter said. The "so get out" was implied.
"You worked all day!" Neal protested, "You deserve a break."
"I need to get this done." Peter said, picking up his pen. Neal snatched it out of his hand with a grin and leaned down so their faces were close, Neal's hand on Peter's shoulder.
"Yeah, well, I need me done." Neal said and then pushed his lips to Peter's. He licked at Peter's lips gently, willing them to open. Peter pulled back slightly.
"You do have a convincing argument." Peter whispered against Neal's lips. He captured Neal's lips with his own and quickly pushed his tongue into the other's mouth. Peter's hands came up to cup Neal's jaw and play with the soft hair at the nape of his neck. Their tongue's met languidly, lazily exploring each other's mouths.
A cough from behind them broke them apart violently. Neal whipped around and Peter looked past Neal to see Hughes in Peter's doorway. He looked slightly pissed and as if he couldn't decide where to look.
Peter cleared his throat, his cheeks pink. "Yes, sir?"
Neal turned his back to Hughes, blushing and fighting a smile at the same time.
"It's about damn time the two of you got together, but for Christ's sake Peter, don't do it at the office!" Hughes said gruffly before making his way down the stairs and out of the office, disappearing into one of the elevators.
Neal waited until he was sure Hughes was gone before he snorted and burst out laughing. Peter looked at him in amazement. Only Neal Caffrey would find their situation amusing. Peter shook his head at his boyfriend, smiling.
"C'mon, he's right. We should continue this at home." Peter said, liking the way it shut Neal up and made his eyes darken a shade. Neal hopped off of his desk and kissed Peter chastely one more time before practically tugging him out of the office.
The paperwork could definitely wait.
