Play-Style Meme

I'm stuck on the front desk all day today, so passing the time doing memes and book-keeping~

Contact

IRC: Lately, more often than not, I've been nicked to Capell, but Ladd is still my default so sometimes I'll sit on that if I'm too lazy to change. Occasionally I'll be on as either Secret or Kittan, too, but usually only if I'm running a post with them or using it for in-chan nick hijinks.

Alternatives: Gchat! I am on under coffee.alchemist at gmail, and if I am at home and available, I have my email open. Often my status is a lie, so feel free to poke me if you really need to talk to me. The only caveat there is if it says "work", because in that case I am either at work being a ninja or actually busy. In the same vein, sending me regular ol' email to that account works just as well, no mattter what my status says. If I'm around, I'll respond pretty quickly.

Style: Ahaha. I can be a bit of a flake about this. I'm not very good at just "chatting" a lot of the time, because I feel like all my small talk is boring, and I'm not really good at keeping up with it in general. Not that I don't enjoy talking to people, because I do! But if I go silent, it's not because I don't like you or something. I also, er, get up and wander away, take showers, do the dishes, accidentally close my laptop, etc, like the space case I am. If I do this in the middle of talking to you I am so sorry and I promise I'll feel very bad about it later.

Threading

Playing frequency: Depends! Capell is so obviously my primary, and there have only been one or two days that I haven't had him out, but some days I just don't have the brain for it. Still working on that "balance" concept, but I'm trying. I'm actually really likely to be around during the workday, provided I'm doing something on the desk. Being a work ninja gives me a regulated work-thread-work pattern that I can't do at home ("thread-thread-thread-thread-work?"). Weekends I'm usually around, unless I am -- great shock -- actually out of the house.

If you want my characters out for something specifically, poke me if I'm around and I'll put them out somewhere

Replying speed: Er. I try and be prompt! But it depends on how much brain I have and how many other things I'm doing at the time. If I'm sitting down with the express intent to thread, probably instantly or within a couple of minutes for a reply (+ a few extra if it's Ladd); if I'm work ninjaing or have a bunch of threads open...longer? IDK I'm bad at estimating time.

Thread pickup: Unless it's in a post I've run and then burned out on, I'm totally receptive to picking things up. Hitting me up real-time (either in chan or in gchat) with a link is the best way, since then I can't go, "Oh, right! I should-- oh, look, a ball of tinfoil whee!"

Comfort levels: Anything! Some of my characters are more prone to angst/violence than others, but so long as you're cool with it, I'm cool with it.

Posting

Frequency: Rare. I'm a terrible procrastinator and often let my school work build up on me, so I feel guilty devoting a lot of time to a post. And I have a hard time coming up with ideas that I think would be interesting to other people. It happens occasionally, but I'm more likely just to thread/jump people.

Spontaneity: Nadda, except for once. Like I said, I have guilt issues, and I know that once I start running a post it will either be the only thing I do for the rest of the day, or I'll have to abandon it. So usually I block out a chunk of my day, and make sure I have all my obligations already taken care of.

Postrape: So far has only happened once, to a new character, so I don't...really know how I'd handle it with a character that I'm more familiar with. Um, I make my best effort to get to everyone quickly, but due to voice slowness or whatever, it might take some time. I will, however, eventually get to/contine with everyone, up until the point that I drop the post entirely.

Time before a post is abandoned: Depends on a lot of things, but most notably which character is running it. I burn out on Ladd insanely quickly, slightly less so for Kittan, but they're both pretty high-energy. Secret and Capell I can hold longer. It also depends, I guess, on if I've chosen a good post topic for myself. I get pretty droppy once I feel like I'm just repeating myself ad naseum. I suppose "good post topics not prone to excessive repetition" is something I'll learn as I go. ^_^

Other

New canon: Uh, Baccano is over, YJ was cancelled years ago, Gurren-Lagann is over and I've finished the crap out of IU. IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT TO SPOIL ME. That said, I am usually pretty touchy about spoilers, and too major of one often makes me feel :| about finishing the source.

AUs: As of yet, I have never done one, and I don't really ...know how you would or where it would go or whatever. But! I am open to the idea.
