Quick question (hardware related)

I have a lovely new Samsung Syncmaster 223BW TFT-monitor. It is large, it has great colours, it is very, very shiny. However, know how you get lighter bits at the edge of most TFTs

I wish I could help. I was hoping someone would have commented by now who knew about this...

The only thing I can think of is that it's broken and that you've got to send it in. I assume you've googled the mistake?

The problem is that it is just an accepted problem with these panels that you're going to have brighter spots. I remember reading a review of the better model, 226bw, and they had similar spots but there was some way you could compensate a little for that - only I cannot find the dratted review and my google-fu has abandoned me. I'll probably try and send an e-mail to the shop I bought it from and ask, just to be sure.

Thanks for trying to help, I really appreciate it. I also suspect that with time, I'll notice it less and less...
