Hot Jupiter was my overall favorite entry in the competition (and apparently so are for the rest of the listeners). I knew it would carry the "lovin'" torch. But making first entry ever to floor ALL categories? Sir, that's simply an awesome feat. Still, this truly was the best Famicompo year as far as the quantity:quality ratio, as everyone put up a good fight.
Though, it's kind of sad to see that there were no Japanese entries that even made the top 10 originals, moreorless the top 20. Maybe the sign of the times? Nah, it's just that narucci, hally, maak... and yes... kay, all need to come back next year and do the best that they do. That way, it brings good blood for everyone to boil over. Their bar really needs to be re-set! ;)
Haha, I was surprised at that... I wasn't expecting so much support in the technique section, even Wiz seems to point out that my technique isn't so great (if I understand it correctly anyway). I guess a lot of people just vote 3-3-3-3 for stuff they like, although there is some diversity in the votes.
Although it was cool to see so many of us "foreigners" win, I was a little sad at the results for MISOKA's tracks, both were among my favorites and I think they deserved better for being really traditional NES tracks... Really sounded like something that actually came from a game.
Anyway, I agree the Japanese NES guys should enter more next year! And you, too! :3
