The immediate payoff of getting back into sports fandom in even a tiny way is the way mainstream media writes:
"Most of the credit goes to the dominant Evgeni Malkin, who has stepped into Crosby’s skates in every respect..."

Clearly I've spent too long in SGA, but I'm hearing D/s AU and bodyswap.

Not too long in SGA: just long enough, because those are brilliant things to hear.

I do feel like Crosby could use the emotional workout from either of these scenarios.

I pretty much always want a D/s AU, so I recognize my bias in that. A bodyswap with Crosby would be seriously pretty interesting, though. Maybe some of his creepy robotism is in his body? And all of a sudden he's feeling more, and it makes him weird and kind of weepy. And then Geno is pissed because Crosby's walking around crying in his body.

...that went weird pretty quickly. Okay then!

See, emotional workouts! It would be awesome.

I feel certain that Geno, as a Russian, doesn't necessarily have a problem with the weeping... just with the situations in which it comes out. Not enough vodka! And not after a loss!

Actually... this is the first time I've ever wondered what it would be like to be in the body of someone who speaks a different language. I mean, different languages and accents use muscles in different ways. Not to mention the disconnect between one's memories/knowledge (assuming they make the swap!) and the neuro pathways to access them. I can see it being weird for someone who usually has such control of his body to have it not respond automatically.

Hmm. Bodyswap as concussion metaphor?
