Angel pressed the heels of his hands into Xander’s shoulders and growled. “Damn it, boy, that’s enough!”

Xander did his best to relax into the attack, hopefully avoiding a dislocated shoulder. Explaining this confrontation to Buffy (let alone Willow!) would be, well, awkward. He glared into Angel’s eyes, balancing between defiance and innocent ignorance. “What’s wrong?”

The larger man fought to keep his fangs back. “How many times do I have to tell you…” Angel started punctuating with Xander’s body - pressing the boy’s shoulders into the brick wall in time with his question. “…don’t… call… me… DEAD BOY?”

Chewing one side of his lip, Xander rolled his eyes heavenward for inspiration. “I don’t know. How many times have you told me so far?”

Thinking hard, Angel tried to come up with an estimate. “Um…”

Xander grinned and wriggled just so. “I’m pretty sure it’s been 99.” With a subtle (for Xander, at least) thrust of hips, he tilted his head to one side and whispered, “Let’s go for an even hundred…”

The next words were muffled, what with Xander’s lips wrapped around a cool earlobe, but Angel was sure he heard the young man utter one more soft “Dead Boy.”
