I have recently been reading the novel Stage Whispers, and loving it. Thank you so much for these generous comments; Stage Whispers is very close to my heart and the story of Callum and Jon is one that just wouldn't let me go, although I feared I'd overdone it a bit. It's truly reassuring to know that someone has read and enjoyed it and completely understood what I was aiming for - the portrait of a love that wouldn't fit into any of the conventional boxes and yet stubbornly refused to die. As you say, thank goodness the climate of opinion has changed far enough for this sort of thing not to be necessary for future generations!

I'm really glad you appreciated my reading of and my response your wonderful novel. It was obvious that the characters mattered to you, and that can really be the making of a good novel. The length and depth of this one reflects not just your commitment to them, but to all the effort and research and thought and creativity that their years-long story demanded. Really, I have to applaud you!
