hiding away the 'cest, but there's nothing graphic here. no real spoilers for either movie.

Sometimes the best thing is a clear patch of skin… the smooth void of pale or slightly golden flesh. They've got matching spaces, empty spaces that need filling, but many that already hold black ink. Designs that are often identical, but sometimes equal and opposite.

The steel needle pierces lovingly into the body with a steady, even tender hand, driving the ink home. They don't trust anyone else to do it. Every line and word. Every shape, every curve. Each drop of ink that bonds to the flesh comes from the hand of his other half.

Blood mixes with the ink, but then, blood mixes with everything between them. Blood and love and sex and a broken childhood and ink. Sometimes he thinks even their souls. Ink shows their personal histories on their bodies. Birth to death and everything in-between if someone cared to read.

Wiping away the last of the blood doesn’t help reveal it; the process makes it difficult to make out the latest tattoo. It’ll be clearer to others when the swelling goes down and the skin heals.

Connor doesn’t need to see the tattoo to know what’s been marked in his brother’s skin, after all. He’s the one who put it there.
