People seriously ask "why can't you just be happy the way you are?" ? Wow that's ignorant.
I used to like the Ze/Zer gender neutral pronouns, but 1. it confused people, and 2. it sounded like I was talking about someone named "Ze". Gender neutral pronouns are hard. /o\ I really wish that gender specific pronouns had never been invented tbh.
Also, radical feminists scare me. My ex-girlfriend's mum is gay and she had lesbian feminist friends who wouldn't go over to her house because her son had 'contaminated objects'. Ugh. I'm surprised they were friends with her at all considering that she'd had a male baby inside her for 9 months. Seriously. Wtf people. This is why I'm an "equalist".
So yeah, I've been friends with you on LJ for a while, but this was a good refresher post for me to read! You're really cool. :D
it's often phrased a little differently, but yeah. they seriously do ask that.
i think my favourite gender neutral set is ey/em/eir, which is based on they/them/their, only, you know.
i consider myself pretty radical in a lot of ways, but, uh. no. "radical" feminism is not for me. for me, feminism is about smashing the patriarchy. and patriarchy oppresses men, too.
Also, I think I'm a trans magnet! Which is perfectly fine by me because I adore trans people (and have a bit of a crush for them). But yes, you would be number 5 in the list of trans people I've known on LJ over the years. ^^
But, I am a little confused. So, might I ask, mtf or ftm? Then again you mentioned the gender neutral so maybe that question is silly and or rude. But then there was that femme post... see how easily confused I get. In any case, I do not mean to be nosy or offensive.
Anyway, I think we shall get alone well. And if you want to know more about me I have an intro post here. :)
