Okay, that was scary to imagine... fun to read but, yes, scary! So I guess you live someplace with lots of wilderness around. And the pic of Piper - she's so adorable!!! Absolute sweetness ♥ Thanks for sharing that! Rena :)
I live in a rural area outside of Seattle (about 30 miles out) that just touches the vast wilderness of Washington state. There is a reason that the nearest suburb is called Wilderness Rim. LOL!
It was scary, but for some reason, I just wasn't that scared that night. *shrugs*
Now that was a time when you could have really used that chainsaw that you wanted to buy to carve a bear, and a perfect example of Murphy's other law. The one that says 'at the worst possible moment.' You've fallen in love. I can certainly understand. She's beautiful.
Staying inside definitely seems to be a good idea. Congratulations on surviving and having a daughter. I don't know what I would do if I had that sort of wildlife in the backyard - especially considering I freak out at the sight of a spider. You did well!

And chainsaw?! That's a bit overkill. LOL! Sort of a Scarface for the Pacific Northwest. How would I explain using the chainsaw on the bear?
'I was carving a tree out of the bear. You know, art imitating life kind of thing.' :P

You just get used to all the wildlife around here - bears, elk, deer, cougars...
