The Day of Aging.

May 09, 2012 14:59

Yesterday something incredible happened: I turned 28. Now, to most people this isn't much of a big deal, but for me... it was pretty huge. I know a lot of people dread getting older. Mikey for example is permanently 29 and has been for a few years now. But I simply never expected to get past 25, so every year that I'm still here kinda blows me away ( Read more... )

Belated Happy Birthday to you.:)

It sounds like you had a great day!

I'm glad you managed to get Abby working again. Mine is also barely three years old, but I doubt we are going to be able to save it. What kind of netbook did you get?

Birthday hugs and snuggles to you.:))

Thankies :) Yes, it was really great :)

Abby is an Acer (Aspire 5735) and they come preloaded with all kinds of crud, I was too afraid of deleting the wrong thing so didn't. So yesterday I took off all the games and stuff and also I'd some how ended up with 2 versions of firefox on there deleted those and restarted it, it booted in like 2mins whereas it had been taking close to 15mins /o\ so I'm not sure if it was the accumulated deletion or something specific that did it. I also tweaked my start up applications and disabled things that weren't needed at start up, but that hadn't made much difference. So, I'd recommend going through and seeing if there are surplus programmes on, I've no idea where the two versions had come from, it seems to have d/l a new version rather than simply updating at some point.

As for Nell, I made a post about her, here (also an acer...I kinda like them apart from all the unnecessary stuff they put on).

*hugs*
Nate

My laptop (an Asus) is losing internet connection, even a new wireless card, and re-installing it from the original hasn't fixed it so don't think they are going to fix it. I do make sure that most things aren't automatic start-ups.

My little netbook is an Acer Aspire One D257-13823. It's fine for the odd thing, but doesn't like to do more than one thing at a time. I would love the Asus Transformer Prime, but if I am looking at a new laptop, the tablet will have to wait for a bit.:)

Your netbook does look very snazzy.:))

I'm glad your birthday went so well and I LOVE that you're still a kid at heart (I try, but sometimes I fail, :)).
