That said, I have good reason to believe that the con rate is probably discounted on the order of about $50/night+, because the con really does book close to every last room available. I will certainly try to confirm it next year, but looking at some comparables, this seems sound.
In case you want a hint about how bad this could potentially be, though: I just checked at the Sheraton (one of the hosts, frankly either the least or second-to-least ideal, depending on your priorities), you CAN book a fully-refundable rate right now as general. For a 1 queen bedded room for 4 people. For $330/night. If you pay up front. If you want to pay at con time, it'd be $340/night. Mind you, the hotel charges $209/night for 4 people at con rate when that block opens, and that'll likely be for 2 beds, not 1. The Sheraton is not the Marriott. But it will book solid for Dragon*Con. This is certain ( ... )

I guess I should add notes to check the wiki or somesuch. The multiple tunnels do help for sure, though.

I definitely want to go again someday! There's so much to see and do! And hopefully next time I'll figure out what to do about that jet lag.
