You can do it! The first step is always recognizing the need to change. We started being "more social" by holding board a game/video game/general hang out day every weekend so that we don't become hermits. The best part though is that /we/ don't have to leave at all if we don't want to so that caters to the introverted/wanting to feel safe side while still enabling socializing. It started with board games/D&D, which are fun in groups but don't have us just sitting there staring at each other.
