I have caved to the many who are posting poetry here. I enjoy it but feel lacking in knowledge. I would like to offer a few poems that I find beautiful.

I love Khalil Gibran. "The Prophet" is one of my favorite books.

Poetry is not easy to write. Prose, stories, etc. come so much easier for me (that is, when I find the time to actually write stuff down).

I'm know absolutely nothing about poetry, but I'm posting this month because I know what I find beautiful. These two sure are! I've never read Sappho (thanks for the introduction), but Gibran is one of my favorites. :)
