Yeah, Hempstead is pretty fucking awful in parts (remember, I grew up in Baldwin, so I'm pretty damned familiar with the area). I find it ironic that an area as bad as Hempstead can be isn't all that far from yuppie, middle class places like Rockville Centre and Baldwin (well, the part of Baldwin south of Sunrise Highway anyway).
