It's official. I'm leaving this journal behind. In the vein of several (including Jim's) thought process, I think that moving past this particular journal onward toward something bigger and better is a good idea for me. I won't be deleting it, as I need an archive for the thoughts, feelings and information I've already put here, but I probably won'

I had never heard this before but I think I understand why it would be true. I did something similar in my emid 20's. I took all my handwritten journals from my childhood and early adulthood and burned them in a pyre when my husband abandoned the kids and I. It was at the very end of my grieving cycle and the beginning of building the new me.
