Okay, so as it stands I have no laptop, no hard drive with my precious files on it, and no Buffy World Forum to even tide me over.

Do you have any idea what it is like sittin with a computer you can do barely anything with?

I know the feeling...besides BWF being down, one of the major game programs I used to unwind (SimCity 4) quit working on my computer some time ago. I thought I had it running again, but it faked me out. I had to delete Sunnydale, and it still didn't work out in the end.......

So I keep spending hours in front of the computer doing nothing but trying to make these programs run, and they never do.

Honey, there is a 'temporary Buffyworld forum' here, Nikki set it up for those of us who are too addicted to live without it :) I'm sorry this is the only thing I can offer to make you feel better. But I hope it will help a little. Good luck with the discs repairing!
