Get hospice to help you with the SSI. They will have a social worker and it should actually get done faster if they are working on it. They know how to get around all the red tape.
I wish I could help you with your Q but I have no clue about that stuff...that stuff is handled by my clients case manager...do you have a case manager?

I've been on Social Security Disability for 10 years. If I can help you in any way with suggestions, advice, etc., let me know and I'll email you my phone number. Or, email me your phone number (if you feel up to talking that is), and I will do my best for you!
I would call your local Department of Social Services or whatever it's called and talk to them and see what they say. Explain to them your situation and then call the Social Security 1-800 number and explain to them your situation. David might have to go to the DSS to fill out paperwork for temporary help, but you could probably get expedited assistance.
