Nothing like spending a couple of days researching big dusty books to make me feel like I'm climbing the walls. I've been patrolling, but it's mostly to make sure I have a super soaker filled with holy water to spray people down if the need to burst into flames while dancing arises ( Read more... )

Have a seat.

*motions to the chair*

Yeah, I had a patrol squad near the school when that student...yeah. Your sister was okay, right?

Yeah, she was exercising her right to not attend socially awkward school functions.

Willow and Tara were chaperoning so I think they made sure the school didn't burn to the ground.

*sighs*

We're researching it, but so far no luck. Any chance you have any Government secrets that will break this open for me?

Ah. Yeah, I thought she was alright too, but I think we're all used to just brushing things off and moving on. It's the Sunnydale way. You survive, you don't sweat the details and just prepare for the next disaster.

*looks at him blankly*

They put rest in peace on people's head stones for a reason. If you know you're always going to be pulled back from he..wherever you were, then why sweat death? It's just a temporary thing.

*thinks about what shes said*

I reckon you've got a point there. I didn't see it that way cause it's not just the Sunnydale way, its the Army way too. Doing what I do, you tend to pick up move on sort out your feeling later if you have time.

*thoughtful*

So you'd rather be wherever you were than here?

It doesn't matter. I'm here and I've adjusted to that. I've had plenty of time to get used to it.

My family and the world need me. Part of being a slayer.

*looks at him*

I think we need to have some of your men positioned around town with water hoses and maybe you should have them on alert to hose each other down too.

Huh. That came out dirtier than it sounded in my head.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry. I..was curious. My first wife Elizabeth died years ago, and well a lot of my men recently one inparticular weighs on my mind. I guess I wonder if they would rather still be here than wherever they are now.

*looks off*

But it's a non issue I reckon.

*smirks a little*

Hey, speaking of needing to be hosed down. Something else happened theother day I have no idea if it was related. So young woman, she looked really familiar, but I can't place from where came on base sang to my men got them all worked up and think they should be making love, not war and then she just dissappeared. You hear of any other occurances like that happening?
