Sometimes it's nice to have someone looking after you. Bringing you drinks, feeding you, plumping your cushions, checking you can see the TV OK, topping up your hot chocolate, bringing you books, changing the DVD, aksing you how your head is, and your back ( Read more... )

*There's a light knock on her door before it's unceremoniously pushed open to reveal a silent and pale knight whose hair has gone a bit wonky on one side. Alanna leans against the door frame and inhales, moderately reassured that Mel is alive.

And watching something about really large bones. Interesting. That must have been one mother of a dragon. Who could slay such a beast? Are there more?

Blinking, Alanna refocuses on Mel and blushes a bit.*

Hullo. I won't ask if you're okay. I'm learning.

Mel looks up and snaps out of some sort of reverie, grinning broadly at her.

"Company! Hey! Come turn the TV off? Please?"

Certainly!

*Grinning crookedly herself, Alanna whistles and crouches in front of the television. It takes her a full minute, but she finally pushes the right button. Pleased, she stands and flops down beside Mel, twisting her torso to face the slayer.*

Mikey hasn't been keeping you company? *Her smile hasn't gone anywhere, and her tone is teasing.*

"Yeah, he has," Mel replies with a roll of her eyes. "But there's only so many times I can have my pillows fluffed. I told him that I really wanted freshly baked cookies, but that I didn't want to worry about the mess in our kitchen. So he's over there."

She moves over slightly to give Alanna more room, but pulls up short with the tiniest of winces.

He knew she was hurt.

Blood - especially the blood of a Slayer and in particular her blood - is hard to miss the scent of.

But he waited for a bit in any case before making his way up. He knows the way, 'course he does. And the door's not locked.

(Harth, take me to my room?)

The young vampire leans against the doorframe. She's asleep. The blood is going, though the scent remains faintly - close to the surface of healing flesh.

Ah, Mel. The things you get up to.

Mikey wandered off when he was sure she was asleep. He had things to do, kitchens to clean, laundry to do. He contemplated carrying Mel to her bed, but she looked so peaceful there, flat out with Stampy curled up on her torso, that he just left them be.

Mel's now lying flat, with her head lolling back, mouth open. The miniphant rises and falls with her breathing.

Melaka ever was a picture of elegance.

Harth stands where he is a moment, watching. The miniphant gets only a disinterested look. There's far weirder in Haddyn. And Hell, for that matter.

She's healing. But that it had taken this long... well. He wishes he'd seen the fight. That must have been a thing of beauty.

Stampy wakes before Mel does - so much for Slayer-like alertness - and perks up her ears to see a new face. She leaps down from the sofa and bounds over, tail wagging furiously.

As the weight shifts, Mel groans and starts to turn over, but stops with a hiss of pain as she does so, her eyes still shut.

And then there was an Ace.

No really.

Knocking at the door.

Mel did say come up any time...

Though if Mel is looking for cheering up, Ace probably isn't the best choice.

Actually, Mel's not that down, except for the broken back thing.

"Who is it?"

Never just say 'come in'. Even if it's a bit useless not to if you've already invited in the creepy twin.

"Friendly neighborhood pyro!" Ace calls back, leaning on the door.

...

"The one that's not Bernard!"

Clarification is useful.

It is.

"It's not locked!" Mel calls. "I'd get Mikey to open the door, but... he's in the shower."

There was a thing. With Hersheys Syrup. It's best Ace doesn't ask.
